GiMaono is a luxury street eyewear brand created by Jaleel Gardner, based out of New Castle County Delaware. Born in the early 90s with parents much older than those of his peers, Gardner was always enticed by the vintage styles of streetwear often worn by his elder family members. As Jaleel got older, of course, times change along with the fashion attached to it. But it was always one thing Gardner made sure to always incorporate into his daily wardrobe... eyewear. In his mid 20s, Gardner would often thrift shop for vintage eyewear in hopes to find similar if not the same frames he would see his Father wear in the past. That's when he came to realize that he wasn't the only person looking for affordable vintage style frames, thus the creation of GiMaono. Pronounced (Gee-Mah-Oh-No), a term that stems from the word Maono which is Swahili for "vision", Jaleel also wanted a way to embrace his family name being that he would be the first in his immediate family to start a business. With his last name starting with the letter "G" and knowing the meaning of "Maono" he combined the two and created GiMaono which for him translates to "Family Vision".
